Team
We’re not a big, corporate test-prep company. We’re a small, passionate team of recent college grads who know how it feels to sit in your shoes. Each of us went through this same process — often without much guidance — and we’ve never forgotten that.
Today, we work at places like Amazon, Capital One, and Procter & Gamble, but our roots are in education, storytelling, and mentorship. We graduated from schools like Cornell, UPenn, USC, and the University of Michigan, many of us on full-ride scholarships.
We’ve written the essays. We’ve sat through the interviews. We’ve navigated the doubts, the deadlines, the rejections — and the wins. But beyond our résumés, what drives us is connection. We love working one-on-one with students — learning who they are, what matters to them, what lights them up — and then helping them shape that into an application that feels true. We don’t have a one-size-fits-all formula.
We don’t believe in perfection. What we do believe in is realness, effort, and heart — and we bring that into everything we do.
Our Impact
Since we started, we’ve had the privilege of working with over 75 students — each with their own story, goals, doubts, and dreams. Some wanted to stand out from a crowd of high achievers. Others weren’t sure where they fit in at all. Many were the first in their families to apply to college. What they all had in common? A desire to be seen for who they really are — and to get into schools where they could thrive.
Our students have gone on to earn spots at top universities like UC Berkeley, Cornell, USC, Michigan, and UPenn, even as the admissions landscape has grown more unpredictable and competitive each year. Parents often tell us they feel a huge weight lifted — not just because of the results, but because their kids finally feel understood and supported.
Behind the scenes, we’re constantly updating our approach. We have regular, honest conversations with admissions officers, review real-time trends, and track patterns across hundreds of essays and outcomes. We don’t rely on guesswork — we rely on evidence, empathy, and evolution. This is how we stay ahead of the curve, and how we help students do the same.

Why We Became College Essay Scientists
We started The College Essay Scientist because we remember what it felt like — the pressure, the uncertainty, the voice in your head asking, “Am I good enough?” We saw too many students and families overwhelmed by a process that felt confusing and isolating, and we knew there had to be a better way.
Our mission has always been simple: make this journey human again. At the heart of every application is a student — a real person with layers, quirks, setbacks, and strengths. We’re here to help uncover that truth and shape it into something powerful and honest. This isn’t about creating a polished version of someone else. It’s about helping students recognize and communicate their own worth — in a way that resonates with their dream schools.
We’re also deeply committed to making this kind of support more accessible. We believe every student deserves the chance to be guided by someone who sees them clearly and believes in what they’re capable of.
